Launching CE Series PC200-10M0 Hydraulic Excavator For Southeast Asia
Komatsu Ltd. (President and CEO: Hiroyuki Ogawa) (hereafter “Komatsu”) is going to launch 20-ton PC200-10M0 hydraulic excavators under the CE series designed for use in urban civil engineering applications, such as residential land development and road construction, in Southeast Asia, in July this year. Starting their sales in Indonesia and Thailand, Komatsu will promote the 2-model line strategy with the PC210-10M0 standard series model. The PC200-10M0 CE series model features better fuel economy and a lower price than conventional models, achieved by optimizing its specs exclusively for urban civil engineering work with four-cylinder engines, while inheriting the quality and durability of the conventional model. Komatsu will work to become DANTOTSU No. 1 in Asia, one of the efforts of focus in the mid-term management plan, by marketing competitive products.
Hydraulic excavators are most versatile of all construction equipment, being used particularly to excavate and load earth and sand at a wide range of work sites and applications. In Traditional Markets*, under the key concepts of environment, safety and ICT, Komatsu markets not only standard series, but also advanced models, such as ICT-intensive construction equipment and hybrid hydraulic excavators. In Strategic Markets*, under the key concepts of fuel economy, costs, and robustness, Komatsu has emphasized product marketing. Since 2019, Komatsu has promoted sales of the PC210-10M0 standard series hydraulic excavators, featuring excellent fuel economy and durability, and has received excellent responses from customers, for example, the model demonstrates power and productivity also in mining and quarrying work. By launching sales of the PC200-10M0 CE series hydraulic excavators to customers centering on urban civil engineering work, such as residential land development and road construction, in addition to the PC210-10M0 standard series model, Komatsu is going to carry out the 2-model line strategy designed to meet a wide range of customer needs in Southeast Asia. Komatsu plans to extend this strategy to other Strategic Markets.
By taking strategic advantage of its in-house production of key components, Komatsu is working to install a variety of sensors on the components of Strategic Markets-specific equipment and to use monitoring technology in order to predict mechanical failures and product life. Just like the PC210-10M0 standard series hydraulic excavator, the PC200-10M0 CE series hydraulic excavator is equipped with a variety of sensors and is applicable to the extended warranty program (Max: 5 years or 10,000 hours), thereby maximizing customer merits.
Komatsu will not only work to maximize its corporate value as it remains committed to Quality and Reliability, but also work on DANTOTSU value (by solving ESG issues and improving earnings through customer value creation). Komatsu will also work to become DANTOSU No. 1 in Asia, one of the efforts of focus under Growth Strategies Based on Business Reforms, which is one of three pillars of growth strategy in the mid-term management plan.
