Punjab Approves Rs 30.8 Billion for Roads and Other Key Projects

The Punjab Planning and Development Board has approved funds of Rs 30.8 billion for various sectoral development schemes during the 36th meeting of the Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) for the fiscal year 2025-26. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Naeem Rauf, Chairman of the P&D Board.

The approved projects include:

• Construction of the Tehsil Qadirabad–Noorpur Doraha road with a budget of Rs. 9 billion.
• Construction and repair of the Chak 77 JB–Japal Jhang Road to Faisalabad with Rs. 810 million allocated.
• Construction and repair of the Chishtian–Shahpur Farid road with Rs. 1.17 billion.
• Construction and repair of the Pansoota Chowk–Mian Bharanwala–Fort Abbas Road with Rs. 2.33 billion.
• Under the Chief Minister’s Cities Development Program in District Gujrat (Zone A), Rs. 8.88 billion was approved for sewage, water supply, and floodwater drainage projects.
• Similarly, in District Gujrat (Zone B), Rs. 8.59 billion was allocated for sewage, water supply, and floodwater drainage projects under the same program.

These initiatives aim to improve infrastructure, enhance urban services, and strengthen flood management across the province.
