CM Punjab Approves Major Road Projects Across Province

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif chaired a special meeting and approved major road infrastructure projects across the province. She approved the SL-4 Lahore Ring Road project and granted in-principle approval for the Sialkot Ring Road section from Wazirabad Road to Sialkot Pasrur Road.

She reviewed progress on the Multan–Vehari Road and directed authorities to complete the project on time and maintain construction quality, noting that crews have completed base and sub-base work while asphalt laying continues.

Officials presented a proposal for the Thal Expressway to connect Bhakkar and Layyah with the M-4 Motorway. She also reviewed progress on the Rawalpindi Signal-Free Corridor, where authorities plan to construct seven underpasses and one overhead bridge.

Officials informed the meeting that the road sector includes 2,143 projects, including 258 under construction. Under the Road Rehabilitation Program Phase-I, authorities launched over 80 schemes, completed 38 and continue work on 47.

In Phase-II, authorities initiated over 40 schemes, completed 18 and continue work on 25. Maryam Nawaz directed officials to complete all road projects by June 30 and to submit regular progress reports, emphasizing improved connectivity and balanced development across Punjab.
