LDA Allocates Rs. 20 Billion for Roads Construction in Lahore

The Punjab government has approved a major investment of Rs. 20 billion for road construction projects in Lahore as part of the LDA structure plan. Out of this amount, the Lahore Development Authority will secure a Rs. 10 billion loan from the provincial government to help finance these large-scale infrastructure upgrades.

This funding is aimed at building and improving key roads throughout the city, addressing the growing needs of Lahore’s expanding population and increasing traffic. The road construction projects are part of a broader set of initiatives discussed and approved in a recent meeting led by LDA Vice Chairman Mian Marghub Ahmed, with Wasa Vice Chairman Chaudhry Shahbaz Ahmed and LDA Director General Tahir Farooq in attendance.

The meeting also covered a range of other important topics, such as the approval of the annual budget, amendments to building and zoning regulations, and updates to penalty fees and land use rules. The committee highlighted the importance of restoring maintenance and repair services for roads managed by the LDA, ensuring that the city’s infrastructure remains in good condition.

With this significant allocation, the Punjab government and LDA aim to modernize Lahore’s road network, reduce congestion, and provide safer, more efficient travel for residents and visitors alike.
