: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan performed groundbreaking to start construction work on 7th Avenue Interchange and the rehabilitation work of I.J.P Road, according to news sources.

Following the federal government’s decision to grant contracts to government organizations without floating tenders, CDA opted to acquire these road projects. Both projects will be carried out by the Ministry of Deference Frontier Works Organization (FWO). The National Logistics Cell (NLC) was the other organization in talks to execute the project

The 7th Avenue Interchange, in Aabpara, will be built at a cost of PKR 1.5 billion at the junction of 7th Avenue and the Srinagar Highway. As the project is in a sensitive area, CDA decided to collaborate with FWO to speed up completion. The interchange will assist in the alleviation of traffic congestion.

More information has been released, including the fact that it would be a cloverleaf interchange with four right and left loops at the intersection of 7th Avenue, Garden Avenue, the Srinagar Highway, and Khayaban-i-Soharwardi. In addition, an underpass will be built to connect both sections of Khayaban-i-Soharwardi.

Apart from this, work on I.J P Road was also started. The restoration of the road will include the construction of two additional lanes and three flyovers and the estimated cost for this project is PKR 6 billion.
