Rs5 bn proposed for over 150 schemes of Punjab Home Dept
It has been proposed to allocate Rs 5 billion for over 150 schemes of the Prisons Department, the Directorate of Monitoring, the Child Protection Bureau and the Directorate of Monitoring which are subsidiary departments to the Punjab Home Department. Rs 3 billion have been proposed for 35 schemes of the Prisons Department.
The Prisons Department schemes include construction of new jails in Lahore, Rawalpindi, Khushab, Nankana, Chiniot, Multan and Rahim Yar Khan. It has been proposed to allocate Rs 196,000,000 to establish new units of the Child Protection Bureau, expand the Punjab Forensic Agency to the district level and modernize 356 check-posts of the Punjab High Patrol Police. It has been proposed to allocate Rs 70 million for the computerization schemes of security companies’ data in Punjab.
