Construction Process On 15 Major&minor Roads To Be Started Soon

The Highways Department has prepared a summary of the construction and renovation of 15 major and several minor roads in Sargodha city under the City Development Package, which has been allowed to be sent to the Government of Punjab for approval.

This approval was given in a meeting held under the chairmanship of Commissioner Sargodha Division.

In the meeting, XEN Highways Malik Gulfarm Awan, while giving a briefing, said that various important highways of the city have been included in this package.

He said that from Millatabad Bridge to 33 Gate via Gulwala Gate (7 km), Khayyam Chowk to Jail Road via Shama Chowk, Club Road (approximately 1.5 km), Queen Chowk to Azadi Chowk (1.40 km), Mela Mandi Chowk to Tariqabad Gate and Judges Colony (2.10 km), Pul Jani Minor to 85 Jhal (4.65 km), Shama Chowk to Stadium Gate (approximately 1 km), Zaidi Chowk to Punjab College via Zafarullah Chowk (1.40 km), Gulwala Chowk to Rehman Plaza via Satellite Town Chowk (1.40 km), Circuit House to Kachehri Chowk (1.70 km), University Road to PAF Barrier via Queen Chowk (0.70 km) and other important roads.

Roads are included. Moreover, the rehabilitation of roads in Gol Chowk Road, Press Road, Girls College Road, Dairy Road, Mission School Road, Water Supply Road, Muhammadi Colony Road, Islamabad Colony Road, Eidgah Road, Choti Sabzi Mandi Road, Rail Bazaar, Urdu Bazaar, Fatima Jinnah Road and other areas has also been included in this package.

The meeting was informed that the estimates of these projects are being prepared and sent to the Punjab government and it has been recommended that funds be allocated for these schemes in the budget of the next financial year so that better travel facilities can be provided to the citizens.

Commissioner Sargodha directed the officers of the Municipal Corporation also to prepare a separate development package under the available funds.

On this occasion, CO Municipal Corporation gave a briefing on the annual development program.

MD WASA gave a detailed briefing on the ongoing mega projects under the Punjab Development Program. The Commissioner directed the MD WASA to further accelerate the pace of work on the ongoing project and ensure immediate rehabilitation of roads and streets where sewer lines have been laid.

The Commissioner, while seeking a complete action plan from the MD WASA, directed that all the affected roads and streets be restored to good condition as soon as possible. The Director of Development, MD WASA, CO Municipal Corporation, Exxon Highways and other concerned officers attended the meeting.
