CDA Asks FWO to Complete Remaining Work on Margalla Road

The Engineering Wing of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has requested the Frontier Work Organization (FWO) to finish the remaining work on Margalla Road.

CDA has sent a letter to the FWO, who is responsible for constructing Margalla Road from G.T. Road to D-12, asking the contractor to complete the installation of cat eyes, road signage, and some asphalt work.

Moreover, CDA has also asked the contractor to improve the quality of the road and complete the signage, lane marking, and construction work of the road in the last RD area.

Furthermore, the contractor was requested to complete the work of Shah Allah Ditta underpass approach roads, drainage work, retaining walls, tourism and historical signage, and cleaning of drains.

The 10.4 km long Margalla Road project from G.T. Road to D-12 was completed and opened to the public 2 months ago. The road has three lanes on each side. However, the fencing of the road is yet to be started.

In the meantime, the construction of another 5 km road from sector D-12 to E-11, where an interchange is also being built, is in progress.

CDA is executing this project through another tender, and National Logistics Cell (NLC) is responsible for this project under section 42(F) of Public Procurement Authority (PPRA) rules.

As per the details, the project is worth around Rs 3.9 billion and is expected to be completed in 6 months.
