Federal government assures assistance to Punjab for completion of road-related projects
Federal government has assured Punjab government to provide assistance for the completion of projects related to the construction and renovation of roads in the province.
The understanding came at a meeting between Minister of Communication Maulana Asad Mehmood and Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi in Lahore on Friday.
Mohsin Naqvi revealed the plan to connect Bahawalpur with motorway with the cooperation of Federal government. He further said that recommendations have been sent to National Highway Authority for the renovation of Lahore-Gujranwala GT Road.
Both leaders also reviewed the option of operation against the elements involved in the encroachment in the Highways and Motorways.
It was also decided in meeting to introduce a robust system of the issuance of fitness certificate of vehicles to facilitate the general public.
