Resumption of Long-Awaited Ring Road Project in Punjab to Ease Traffic Woes

The caretaker government of Punjab has announced the revival of the long-pending Ring Road (southern loop-3) project after a hiatus of 12 years, with a determined goal of completing the endeavor by December 31.

Highlighting the significance of this move, caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi stated that the project’s recommencement aims to enhance transportation facilities for the people.

He made these remarks during an on-site visit to the project location near Multan Road Maraka, where he inspected the ongoing work.

Expressing optimism about the project’s timeline, the chief minister affirmed that the delays encountered in the past, owing to legal disputes, have now been resolved.

He attributed these setbacks to the previously hindered progress, but with the obstacles out of the way, the project is set to make steady headway toward completion.

With the ambitious completion of this initiative, significant relief from traffic congestion is anticipated for individuals commuting from southern Punjab to Lahore.

This, in turn, is expected to alleviate the burden on Thokar and Canal Road. Additionally, the benefits extend to residents of housing schemes along Multan Road.
