Five Road Soon to be Completed Under FDA’s Supervision

Faisalabad: Under the Prime Minister’s Sustainable Development Programme, five roads and streets construction and repair schemes in different localities of the city will be completed under the supervision of Faisalabad Development Authority.

It was informed during a meeting held under the chairmanship of FDA Director General Muhammad Sohail Khawaja to review the pace of implementation on development programmes. Additional Director General Amir Aziz, Chief Engineer Shahid Mehmood, Deputy Director Engineering Hassan Zaheer, Deputy Director Admin Yasir Ijaz Chattha and other officers were present in the meeting.

It was informed that the departmental work had been started to implement the uplift schemes. In this connection, huge funds had been earmarked for the carpet improvement of a road from KFC Chowk to Hameed Chowk Peoples Colony while funds would be spent on the construction of a road from Yasrib Colony to Pilot Park.

Moreover, a carpet road of Shahzad Colony, Karim Town, Al-Fiaz Colony and Fatehabad would be improved while funds had also been allocated for the rehabilitation of a carpet road of Chamanzar Colony, Awami Chowk and Barkatpura across Rahman Garden. It was informed that huge funds would be spent on the PCC construction of streets at Bhatti Town, Rabbani Colony, Gulgasht Colony, Yaseenabad, Maqsoodabad, Muhammad Nagar, Basti Alla Hu and Rehmanpura.

The meeting was informed that tenders had been invited to undertake these development schemes which would be completed within four months after issuance of work orders. The FDA Director General while reviewing the details of uplift schemes under Prime Minister’s Sustainable Development Programme directed the Engineering Section to use funds with transparency and durable construction of the roads should be ensured at all cost.

He emphasised upon regular monitoring of the construction work for timely completion of the schemes and added that all administrative and technical requirements should also be kept in view for maintaining quality and good governance. He maintained that the performance of the FDA should be seen clearly regarding high quality construction of roads and streets and said that all-out professional capabilities would be used in this regard.

The DG said that the FDA would play due role for boosting the construction sector in order to generate maximum economic activities to creating ample jobs opportunities. He said that the work on running development projects should be continued safely in the wake of coronavirus threat and necessary precautionary measures should be taken against the spread chances of coronavirus, including use of sanitiser, face masks and gloves by work force engaged for development schemes.
