48 development projects costing over Rs5b approved for Bahawalpur division
A meeting chaired by Commissioner Bahawalpur Division Capt (Retd) Muhammad Zafar Iqbal approved 48 development projects costing over Rs. 5 billion for the entire division. Presiding over the first meeting of the Divisional Development Working Party here in the conference room of his office on the occasion of the new financial year, he said that the Punjab government is committed to continue the economic growth in the province at the same pace In the budget of the year 2021-22, the Punjab government has allocated huge amount for the development projects of South Punjab. In the video link meeting, Deputy Commissioner Bahawalpur Irfan Ali Kathia, Deputy Commissioner Bahawalnagar Shafqatullah Mushtaq, Deputy Commissioner Rahim Yarkhan Dr. Khurram Shahzad and other administrative officers were present. Among the development projects approved for the division in the meeting are 11 development projects of District Bahawalpur Highways Department at an estimated cost of Rs 1.53 billion, 34 development projects of District Highways Department of Rahim Yar Khan at an estimated cost of Rs 3.39 billion. The meeting included three development projects worth Rs. 204.5 million. The meeting included 12.20 km long road at an estimated cost of Rs. 19 crore for Mouza Sakhel Tehsil Ahmadpur Sharqiyah, 3.73 km long road at Basti Dowla Tehsil Ahmadpur Sharqiyah at an estimated cost of Rs. 4.44 km long road in Mehrabwala at an estimated cost of Rs. 769.97 million, Rs. 200 million for construction and repair of 8.65 km long road from Jhangiwala to Mari Qasim Shah Tehsil Bahawalpur and Rs. 179.986 million for Shahpur Tehsil Hasilpur. Commissioner Bahawalpur Division directed that all development projects should be completed on time and in accordance with high standards.
