Memon – having portfolios of Information, Transport and Mass Transit – stressed that critical infrastructure works must be completed according to schedule.

He issued the directives while chairing a high-level meeting of the Transport and Mass Transit Department, where the pace and progress of construction work on various sections of the Yellow Line BRT project was reviewed in detail.

Memon directed the concerned authorities to substantially accelerate construction on the Yellow Line project and utilise all available resources to ensure its timely completion.

He placed particular emphasis on expediting construction of the BRT depot and other supporting infrastructure, saying completion of the project’s foundational facilities was essential to keeping the overall scheme on track.

“The Yellow Line BRT is a vital mass-transit project for the people of Karachi,” Memon said, directing officials to speed up work on the second section of the Jam Sadiq Bridge, a key component of the project’s infrastructure.

He ordered an expansion of the project workforce and called for closer coordination among government departments, consultants, contractors and technical experts to remove bottlenecks and maintain construction momentum.
