Rs240b uplift projects planned for S Punjab

The Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) of South Punjab, Saqib Zafar, said that work on more than 2,000 development projects was underway at a cost of Rs240 billion in South Punjab.

He said the projects include 1,548 ongoing and 443 new schemes. He was addressing a review meeting on the Annual Development Programmed (ADP) in South Punjab at his office in Multan on Tuesday.

The ACS asked all the secretaries to closely monitor the projects for completion within the stipulated time period and to ensure a hundred percent utilization of the funds that had been released.

He instructed them not to compromise on the quality of construction work and to follow the guidelines of the government regarding the development projects. The meeting was informed that work was going on in 541 projects in Multan, 439 in Bahawalpur and 502 in the DG Khan division.

The Secretary of Education, Dr. Ehtesham Anwar, The Secretary of Services, Nausheen Malik, the Secretary of Livestock, Nasir Jamal Hotiana, the Secretary of the Board of Revenue, Tanveer Iqbal Tabasum, the Secretary of Forests, Sarfraz Magsi, the Secretary of Agriculture, Saqib Ali Ateel, and the Secretary of Health, Muhammad Iqbal, attended the meeting. The Secretary of P&D, Aftab Pirzada, briefed the meeting about the projects.
