Punjab PDWP approves Rs3.58 billion for key infrastructure and public service projects
LAHORE: The Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) has approved eight significant development schemes across various sectors, with a total estimated cost of Rs. 3,579.9 million. The approval was granted during the 38th meeting of the current fiscal year, chaired by P&D Board Chairman Dr. Naeem Rauf.
The meeting also approved the construction and improvement of a 7.5 km road from Kotani Road to the BMP Check Post Lakhani in Dera Ghazi Khan/Taunsa, with an allocation of Rs. 986.9 million. This project will include a pile foundation bridge, significantly improving road access.
Another important approval was for the creation of a Media Think Tank for resilience and counter-narrative initiatives, alongside the construction of Lady Bar Rooms in Punjab at an estimated cost of Rs. 450 million.
The projects reflect the government’s ongoing commitment to improving infrastructure, legal services, and public facilities across the province. The meeting was attended by Chief Economist Masood Anwar, members of the P&D Board, and senior officials from various relevant departments.
