Moroccan Govt to Construct Mosque in Park Enclave-I

Islamabad: The Moroccan government has agreed to build a mosque in the Capital Development Authority (CDA)’s ‘Park Enclave – I’ residential scheme as a ‘token of brotherhood and cordial relationship’ between the people and governing bodies of the two nations, according to news sources.

The Ministry of foreign affairs forwarded the Moroccan government’s request to the CDA regarding this matter. In response, the CDA proceeded to allocate 11 kanals in Park Enclave –I for the construction of the mosque, which will be styled in Moroccan architectural patterns and is expected to be a masterpiece.

The foreign affairs ministry has directed the CDA to identify land, provide land possession, title and other details of the mosque so that the Moroccan government could be accordingly informed.

This move is a progressive one, as most plots reserved for mosques in the sectors of the civic authority tend to be illegally inhibited by private entities. Earlier, the CDA’s Urban Planning Directorate had proposed a policy for the regularization and allotment of mosque plots back in 2017. However, the plan had managed to fall through the cracks before it could be tabled before the board.
