KP: PDWP approves Rs157b for 80 uplift schemes

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) on Monday held an important meeting and accorded approval to 80 developmental projects valuing over Rs157 billion, said a handout.
The meeting of the PWDP was chaired by additional chief secretary Shahab Ali Shah.
The schemes which got approval of the forum were of Construction and Works (C&W), Irrigation, Public Health Engineering, Health, Mines and Minerals and Agriculture sectors.
The PWDP approved the Up-gradation projects of several hospitals including reconstruction of civil hospital in Karam Muzaffarkot district including setting up of a paraplegic center for treatment were approved.
It also accorded approval to feasibility study, detailed engineering design and construction of two-lane road from Bannu to Shahr and a road from South Waziristan Tehsil Sararogha via Amar Reghazi to Spain Muzak, Kachra to thari Faridai via Khaldi and further black topping of 10 km road.
The construction of a flyover at Swabi Shiva Adda, construction and rehabilitation of roads in Nowshera, construction of Bridge over Swabi Jehangira Road over Kabul River were also approved by the meeting.
In addition, the feasibility study and detailed engineering design for inter-district road from Torghar to Buner District, DI Khan Construction of road from Darzanda to Danishabad sub-division, South Waziristan district Construction of 7 km road from Sararogha Road to Bilalabad Haibat Khel and road from Band Khel to Habib Kuruna to Tabe Zangara South Waziristan were approved.
The meeting also accorded approval to supply of drinking water schemes in newly merged districts and subdivisions. It gave approval to construction, improvement and maintenance of water supply and sanitation schemes in district Malakand tehsil Baizai and Batkhela.
Plumbing works, development charges and supervision, supply and repair of necessary equipment for district Dir Bala Category-C Hospital Wadai and RHC Nahag Bandai were also approved in the meeting.
The establishment of Safe Blood Transfusion Centers at Bannu, Mardan and Kohat were among the most important schemes approved in the meeting.
The meeting approved allocations for the reconstruction of civil hospital in district Kurram Muzaffarkot and up-gradation of district Swat RHC Deolai to Category D Hospital and BHU Dairy, Rangmala to RHC level and construction of RHC Beha and RHC Gowalla.
The construction of a paraplegic center in Swat was also approved.
Feasibility studies for the establishment of River Protection Authority in Hazara and Malakand Division were also approved by the forum.
