Govt fast-tracks long-delayed Islamabad Model Jail project
Islamabad: Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry inspected the ongoing construction work at the long-delayed Islamabad Model Jail on Saturday, issuing strict directives to authorities to expedite the project’s completion without compromising quality standards.
During the site visit, senior officials from the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and relevant departments provided the minister with a detailed briefing on the development status and the progress of the facility’s various components.
Speaking on the occasion, Chaudhry highlighted the facility as a key priority for Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi. He noted that despite years of delays under previous administrations, the current government has placed the project on a practical footing and significantly accelerated its execution.
The minister attributed the nationwide push for rapid infrastructure development to the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, stating that development schemes across Pakistan are currently being executed at a record pace.
Reiterating the government’s commitment to timely execution, Chaudhry instructed the departments involved to further boost the pace of work while ensuring that construction standards remain uncompromised throughout the process.
