Faisalabad Mass Transit Route: Punjab CM orders urban forests
LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has directed the plantation of urban forests and greenery at every open location along the Faisalabad Mass Transit System route.
Chairing a special meeting to review progress on the project, the chief minister was given a detailed briefing on the Faisalabad Mass Transit System. She reviewed the pace of development and directed authorities to expedite the construction process.
CM Maryam Nawaz also instructed officials to install spacious and high-quality elevators as part of the transit infrastructure.
According to the briefing, the 20.5-kilometre-long Faisalabad Mass Transit System will comprise 21 stations, of which 11 stations covering an 11.3-kilometre route will be elevated.
It was further informed that depots for the Faisalabad Mass Transit System will be established at Faisal Town and Airport Chowk.
