CM Punjab Approves Construction of Multan-Vehari Dual Carriageway
The Multan-Vehari dual road project was given the green light on Sunday by Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi while moderating the 12th meeting of the Public-Private Partnership & Monitoring Board.
The CM stated that a 39 km long dual road from Multan to Tibba Sultanpur would be built in the first phase and that the road would be built through a public-private partnership.
He informed that the 47 km dual road from Tibba Sultanpur to Vehari would be built in the second phase while the road from Multan to Tibba Sultanpur would be built in the next 1 year.
The sources informed that the department of Communication and Works (C&W) would build this road project from Tibba Sultanpur to Vehari.
Furthermore, during the meeting, approval was also given for the development of the Faisalabad-Chiniot-Sargodha dual road project.
The details show that the Faisalabad-Chiniot-Sargodha dual road project would be finished in 2 phases through a public-private partnership and the first phase would see the completion of the Faisalabad-Chiniot section of the road.
During the meeting, approval was also given for a review of the environmental and social management system.
Besides, the meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Abdullah Sumbal, Senior Member Board of Revenue, Secretaries of P&D, Finance, Law, Housing, and C&W ministries, Member P&D, CEO Public-Private Partnership Authority, and other related authorities.
