CDA to Open Rawal Dam Flyover in Two Months
The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has directed to open the Rawal Dam flyover within the next two months. The project was initiated in July 2021 and has different portions like slip roads, an underpass, and an overhead bridge. The flyover will reduce travel time and congestion in the concerned area.
CDA is also working on several other projects worth billions of rupees. One of the most notable ones is the CDA Hospital, which is expected to provide 100 bed-facility. Other construction projects include the construction of parking areas in commercial sites; bridge construction on Kayani Road to ease traffic flow in Bara Kahu; a development project for the D-12 sector, worth Rs. 1,168 million; and a three-year plan for the conservation and maintenance of Margalla Hills National Park.
Road projects are the most important segment of infrastructure that plays a key role in the development of a country. These projects improve economic connectivity and road transport efficiency in the city and create job opportunities for the locals. Road networks are the backbone of the country as they carry 80% of Pakistan’s total traffic. The transportation sector accounts for about 10.5 percent of the country’s GDP. A recent boost in spending on public infrastructure has positively affected social and human capital.
