Boundary wall: HSATI takes action against illegal construction on main SITE road

HYDERABAD: Senior Vice Chairman of Hyderabad SITE Association of Trade & Industry (HSATI) Aamir Shahab, stated that regarding the illegal construction of a boundary wall and encroachments on the main SITE road near Nara Jail, the Association immediately took action by sending a detailed letter to the Inspector General of Prisons, Sindh, with copies forwarded to the concerned ministers, SITE Limited officials and other relevant authorities.

In the letter, it was clearly highlighted that the jail administration was constructing a wall on the SITE’s main road which is not only against the approved layout plans but also constitutes an illegal encroachment on land allotted to SITE Limited under Sindh Government’s revenue notifications (1952 & 1953). Furthermore, surveys conducted by the Survey Department in 2002 and the Sindh High Court Hyderabad Circuit Bench in 2017 had already confirmed that the land in question belongs to SITE Limited not Nara Jail.

He further pointed out that the construction of this illegal wall and drain would have narrowed down the passage for heavy vehicles, thereby seriously disrupting the transportation of raw materials and goods in the industrial area. Aamir Shahab said that due to this strong representation and the timely efforts of the Association, the concerned authorities have not only stopped the illegal construction but have also initiated a fresh demarcation of the land.

Senior Vice Chairman described this development as highly encouraging for the industrial community, restoring the confidence of the business sector. He especially expressed gratitude to the Inspector General of Prisons Sindh, the Minister for Industries & Commerce, the President Hyderabad Chamber of Small Traders & Small Industry, the Secretary Commerce & Industry, the Managing Director SITE, the Secretary SITE, the Deputy Commissioner Hyderabad and the Estate Engineer SITE along with all relevant authorities who took swift action in safeguarding SITE’s legitimate jurisdiction.

He hoped that in the future, SITE’s boundaries and legal rights will be fully respected at every level and such unlawful activities will be curtailed. At the same time, he urged that industries be facilitated so that Hyderabad SITE can flourish, industries may prosper and the national economy may gain further strength.
