Commissioner Reviews Construction Work Progress On Multan-Lodhran Road

MULTAN, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 15th Sep, 2026) Commissioner Aamir Karim Khan visited the under-construction Multan-Lodhran road and conducted a detailed review of the ongoing construction work, quality standards and overall progress of the project.

Officials of the National Highway and Communications departments briefed the commissioner on the progress and various aspects of the project.

The commissioner said the 62-kilometre Multan-Lodhran road project was being executed at a cost of Rs4.5 billion and was scheduled for completion by January 2027.

He directed the concerned authorities to further accelerate the pace of construction and ensure completion within the stipulated timeframe. He stressed that there was no compromise on the quality of construction and directed officials to ensure that all work was carried out strictly in accordance with prescribed SOPs and quality standards.

During the visit, Commissioner Aamir Karim Khan inspected the construction material and ongoing work.He directed the contractors and officials to prepare a high-quality road base according to ground conditions and maintain the road level in line with the existing surface.

He also ordered the immediate identification of the central median along the Multan-Lodhran road so that plantation could be undertaken simultaneously with the construction work. He directed officials to identify suitable locations for plantation along the entire 62-kilometre stretch and continue tree planting alongside the road development.

The commissioner said service roads were being constructed in built-up areas, including Basti Malook and Lar, and directed that proper drainage system be developed along the road to ensure effective disposal of rainwater and other runoff.

He also ordered regular inspections of the construction work to ensure compliance with quality standards.

Deputy Commissioner Lodhran Muhammad Ashraf and other relevant officers were also present.
