Rs 10 Billion Mega Rathua-Harayam Bridge On Mangla Dam To Be Inaugurated On August 14, This Year
Pakistan Prime Minister’s Implementation Commission Member, Shahid Ahmed Sindhu, Thursday inspected the Rs 10 billion under construction mega project of the longest Rathua Haryam Bridge on Mangla dam reservoir under the Mangla Dam raising project.
He reviewed the progress of the work on the site and expressed satisfaction over the quality and pace of the construction work of the bridge organized by FWO, the official sources told APP.
On this occasion, he was informed that 86 percent of the work on the project had been completed, while the bridge on both sides of Mirpur and Islamgarh would be connected in April 2026 and the road and other decorations would be completed by August 2026.
Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif will inaugurate this important project on August 14, this year, it was told on the occasion.
On this occasion, Director Coordinator, Saleh Narejo, Chief AGB, Haroon Balkoni, FWOK, Khwaja Asim Shaheen, Chief Engineer, Rathua Haryam Project Director, Mahmood Mumtaz Rathore, Finance Division Pakistan’s Babar Nazir, Project Director, Rathua Haryam, Bridge Engineer Inam-ul-Haq, Deputy Director, Muhammad Irfan, Project Manager FWO, Shoaib Naseer Raja were also present.
Project Director, Rathua Haryam, Bridge Engineer, Inam-ul-Haq and FWO’s Khawaja Asim Shaheen gave a detailed briefing about the progress of the project and it was informed that the project was to be completed on March 31, 2027, while the important and incomplete part of this project, the bridge, will be completed in April 2026 and all the work of the project will be completed by August 2026, which will be inaugurated on August 14, 2026.
With the completion of this project, where there will be less distance in means of transportation throughout Azad Kashmir including districts Kotli, Samahini, Chakswari, Islamgarh, Dadial, Hajira, Rawalakot, and Palandri, millions of people will also save on transport fuel.
On this occasion, Shahid Ahmed Sandhu, Member, Prime Minister’s Implementation Commission, appreciated the performance of FWO on the progress of the Rathua Haryam project, which played an important role in completing the difficult project under adverse conditions.
He said that Mangla dam was an important project for the socio-economic development of Pakistan, which had an important role in the development of energy and agriculture in Pakistan.
The government and especially the Prime Minister, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif took personal interest in the completion of the pending project of Rathua Haryam Bridge and entrusted the responsibilities of the FWO to complete this project.
