Govt disburses Rs374.418 million for Aviation sector projects

The government has so far released Rs374.418 million to execute around 17 aviation sector projects under the Public Sector Development Programmed (PSDP 2021/22), the official data revealed.

As of July 16, Rs374.418 million has been authorized/disbursed against the total allocation of Rs3.558 billion for various aviation sector projects.

As per the PSDP document, an amount of Rs11.077 million had been earmarked for the construction of double storied women hostel/barrack with the provision of third storied along with a mess, a recreation hall and allied facilities at the Allama Iqbal International Airport; Rs37.581 million for the construction of 2X double storied barrack with the provision of third storied for corporal to inspectors and assistant directors along with separate mess and allied facilities, and a recreation hall at the Quetta Airport; Rs20 million for the construction of the Airport Security Force (ASF) camp at the Islamabad International Airport; and Rs50 million for the construction of a barrack accommodation for the ASF personnel along with a mess and allied facilities, ladies rest room MT, store, Kote Magazine, quarter guard and an OC accommodation/room at Skardu Airport.

Similarly, the government has earmarked Rs39.534 million for the construction of a barrack accommodation for the ASF personnel along with a mess and allied facilities, MT, store, visitors room, ladies rest room, Kote Magazine, quarter guard, and an OC accommodation/room at the Chitral Airport,; Rs21.285 million for the construction of double-storied barracks for the ASF personnel at the Faisalabad Airport; Rs6.213 million for the construction of double-storied director South Secretariat Offices, ASF along with allied facilities adjacent to the ASF headquarters Karachi; Rs500 million for the construction of rainwater harvesting Kasana Dam at the Islamabad International Airport; Rs57.719 million for the construction of triple-storied living accommodation for the ASF personnel at the Lahore Airport; Rs3.952 for the construction of the triple-storied living barrack for the ASF personnel along with a mess, and a recreation hall at the Multan Airport.

Likewise, Rs96.108 million has been allocated for the development of the reverse linkage between Mamara Research Center (MRC), Turkey and Pakistan Meteorological Department, Islamabad; Rs239.736 million for the installation of the weather surveillance radar in Karachi; Rs580 million for the installation of the weather surveillance radar in Multan; Rs370 million for the installation of the weather surveillance radar in Sukkur; Rs1.144 billion for the new Gwadar International Airport; Rs350 million for the up gradation of the ASF Academy in Karachi and Rs30 million for the up gradation of the ASF Academy, Karachi (feasibility and supervision).
