Tenders approved for construction of two roads worth Rs166m: Aleem
LAHORE: Punjab Senior Minister Abdul Aleem Khan said tenders for Zarar Shaheed Road in Cantt and Baja Line Road in Mughalpura have been approved which will be constructed shortly with an estimated cost of Rs160.5 million and Rs 5.5million, respectively.

The senior minister unveiled this while presiding over a meeting to review the pace of developmental works in different areas of NA-129 and PP-157 and PP-158 here on Sunday. Out of the total amount, Aleem told that a grant of Rs100 million would be spent in PP-158 while development schemes of Rs40.25 million have been allocated for PP-157. The additional grant of Rs50.25 million will be spent in NA-129 to solve public problems, he added.
The senior minister directed the Cantonment Board, Municipal Cooperation Lahore (MLC) and the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) to hold joint meetings to resolve construction-related issues before time. “Sewerage, PCC and road carpeting works in different areas of NA-129 are being carried out on priority basis,” he said and directed that integrated planning should be ensured and related agencies be on the same page to make development works as useful as possible, especially before construction of the new roads so that all concerned issues could be settled at a once.
According to the minister, developmental projects have been completed in different areas including Basti Syedan Shah, Mian Mir Colony, Qasim Pura and Shah Jamal while Dharmapura, Gondi Pir, Jinnah Park and Ahata Molchand areas are being uplifted and their development schemes are also in the pipelines. He said these development projects are of equal importance to all the areas of NA-129 and PP-157 and 158 beyond political affiliation with the aim of alleviating the hardships of the citizens.
