Punjab Board Allocates Land for New Electric Bus Depots
Nabeel Javed, a Senior Member of the Punjab Board of Revenue, has announced the construction of a depot for more than 300 electric buses near Thokar Niaz Baig. He also revealed that terminals for these electric buses will be established in Ichhra, Model Town, and Cantonment.
This announcement was made during a meeting on Tuesday attended by important officials such as Colonies Member Abdul Waheed Malik, Secretary of Transport Ahmad Javed Qazi, Additional Secretary Mass Transit Authority Ayesha Mumtaz, ADC (Revenue) Lahore Habib Butt, and MD Mass Transit Authority Kanwar Anwar Ali.
During the meeting, Javed also mentioned that the Punjab Board of Revenue has allocated 41 kanals of land in Faisalabad for the construction of another electric bus depot. Furthermore, a letter has been sent to the Transport Department for the allocation of 99 kanals of land in Bahawalpur to build an electric bus terminal and depot.
These projects are part of the Chief Minister’s vision to provide affordable and eco-friendly transport options to the public. Similar facilities are also being developed in Dera Adda, General Bus Stand Multan, and Rawalpindi. The process of securing land for these projects is almost complete, aiming to improve travel services for the public.
