PM Shehbaz Sharif Inaugurates Bhara Kahu Bypass in Islamabad

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif presided over the inauguration ceremony of the Bhara Kahu bypass in Islamabad and also laid the foundation stone of the Serena Chowk underpass.

The ambitious project, spanning 5.4 kilometers, includes a 1350-meter-long overhead bridge.

Addressing the ceremony, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed his satisfaction over the record completion time of the Bhara Kahu bypass, which was accomplished within just 9 months.

He highlighted that the bypass would save travel time, enhance tourism flow, and facilitate everyday travel to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

Furthermore, Sharif emphasized the importance of making the highway green, clean, and aesthetically pleasing through landscaping efforts.

He also took the opportunity to praise the crucial role played by the army chief, General Asim Munir, in completing the Bhara Kahu bypass project.

“I would like to thank the COAS General Asim Munir and the National Logistics Cell (NLC) for their dedication and contributions to the realization of this project,” said PM Shehbaz.

He also expressed hope that the political leadership and government departments will strive to make the bypass as beautiful as Baku, Azerbaijan’s road structures and landscapes.

The Bhara Kahu bypass is expected to significantly benefit the people of Murree, Galyat, Azad Jammu, and Kashmir by improving connectivity and reducing travel time to these regions.
