Naran-Kaghan route reopens after reconstruction of Mahandri Bridge
Islamabad: The Pakistan Army, in collaboration with the Frontier Works Organization (FWO), has successfully completed the reconstruction of the Mahandri Bridge, which was destroyed by flash floods on July 30, 2024.
As per details, the reopening of the bridge has restored traffic on the vital Naran-Kaghan route, providing much-needed relief to both local residents and tourists. The bridge’s destruction had caused significant disruptions by blocking key roads connecting Mansehra, Kaghan, Naran, and Babusar, leading to severe hardships for affected communities. In response to the urgency of the situation, the National Highway Authority (NHA) and FWO swiftly commenced reconstruction work on an emergency basis.
The Pakistan Army played a crucial role by supplying essential equipment, while the FWO deployed its machinery and workforce, working around the clock to complete the project. Their combined efforts have successfully restored this critical infrastructure link, enabling the resumption of all types of traffic.
