Multan, Harappa to get new museums to preserve heritage
Lahore: Punjab has announced plans to establish two new museums in Multan and Harappa to preserve the region’s historical heritage, according to a news article a week ago.
During a meeting on Thursday, Director General Archaeology Zaheer Abbas Malik emphasised the importance of museums in safeguarding Punjab’s archaeology and raising public awareness.
He expressed satisfaction with the progress on ongoing projects and urged officials to complete pending tasks promptly, ensuring the museums meet international standards. A roadmap was also outlined, including timelines for construction, exhibitions, and official openings.
Malik highlighted that these museums will preserve historical heritage and promote cultural education and tourism, enhancing Pakistan’s international image.
