KWSC completes work at Zero Point of Hub Canal

KARACHI: Water and Sewerage Corporation (KWSC) completed key development works at Zero Point on the Hub Canal, restoring water supply to the megacity’s West and Keamari districts.

In a statement on Sunday, KWSC spokesperson said water supply from the Hub Pumping Station has now resumed to the affected areas following the completion of the project.

The works included the construction of an intake chamber at Zero Point, aimed at effectively linking upstream and downstream flows. With the completion of this infrastructure, both canals at Zero Point have been connected to the Hub Dam, improving the overall efficiency and reliability of the water transmission system.

The corporation said the project is expected to significantly enhance water availability, particularly in District West and Keamari, while also reducing technical issues faced during distribution.

KWSC reiterated its commitment to ensuring improved, consistent and uninterrupted water supply to Karachi residents through ongoing reforms and infrastructure upgrades.
