Karachi’s Johar Chowrangi Flyover Inaugurated, May Bring Relief to Karachiites
The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman and Foreign Minister, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, inaugurated the Zia Moheyddin Flyover on Thursday, constructed by the Sindh Local Government Department at Johar Chowrangi to alleviate perennial traffic congestion in the area.
Several high-profile government officials attended the inauguration ceremony, including Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, Local Government Minister Nasir Shah, Information Minister Sharjeel Memon, and Social Welfare Minister Shahla Raza.
During the briefing, Nasir Shah informed the PPP chairman that the flyover project and an underpass at the Johar Chowrangi intersection were launched at Rs2.14 billion.
The flyover, with a length of 461 meters and a width of 18.2 meters, has double arm poles with LED lights installed on its 226-meter-long bridge. While the flyover has been completed, work on the underpass is still ongoing.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari urged the local government minister to expedite work on the underpass to ensure its completion at the earliest. He also congratulated the people of Gulistan-e-Jauhar on the flyover’s inauguration.
The construction of the Zia Moheyddin Flyover is expected to provide relief to the residents who have been struggling with traffic congestion for a long time.
