Gwadar-Ratodero Motorway section reopened for traffic
Gwadar to Ratodero Motorway M8 section has been restored for traffic.
According to the statement issued by the National Highway Authority (NHA), Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had directed the restoration of all road networks across the country.
With the restoration of the M8 section, traffic has been restored for Gwadar, Awaran, Khuzdar and Ratodero.
According to the spokesperson of NHA, the M8 section was restored with the day and night efforts of the NHA chief on the instructions of Federal Minister of Communications Maulana Asad Mahmood.
The spokesperson said that the motorway section is currently open for one-way traffic for the convenience of passengers.
Mahmood said that the restoration of M8 will speed up the relief activities of the federal and provincial governments.
He added that other national highways of the country will also be restored soon.
A spokesperson of National Highway Authority said the M8 section of Motorway has been opened for one-way traffic to facilitate the people of Khuzdar, Gwadar, Awaran and Rato Dero.
Minister for Communications Molana Asad Mehmood in a statement said the other national highways will also be restored soon.
While the restoration of road and power infrastructure in the flood affected areas is continuing on emergency basis.
The Prime Minister is personally monitoring the restoration work. Reports are being presented to him in this regard on daily basis.
Operational sections of Gawadar-Ratodero Motorway M-8 have been opened for traffic. Landsliding has been cleared from the motorway at Wangu Hills place.
Timergara-Bajaur transmission line has been restored whilst routine operations have also been restored on Bajaur and Munda Grid Stations.
