Gwadar Coal Power Project to be Replaced by Solar Plant
The 300 MW coal-based power plant in Gwadar will be replaced by a solar facility, according to the power division.
Despite the project’s approval in 2016, formal work on it has not yet begun. The China Pakistan Economic Corridor is where the initiative was created (CPEC).
The government wants China to replace this imported coal-based power plant with a solar power plant of equal capacity in accordance with the sources of power division.
The government has decided to forbid the construction of new power plants using imported fuel, according to Federal Minister for Power Engr. Khurram Dastgir.
According to the federal minister, the nation would look to expand its ability to generate power from locally available resources like solar, coal, wind, hydel, etc. He said that the country’s nuclear power facilities will still be constructed by the government.
