CM Punjab Inaugurates Bund Road Corridor and Ravi Bridge Expansion Projects

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz inaugurated two major infrastructure projects in Lahore, the Controlled Access Corridor (Bund Road Package-II) and the expansion of Ravi Bridge.

She also launched the remodeling of the Babu Sabu Interchange, a vital part of Lahore’s traffic flow system. During the event, the CM inspected the quality of the work on both the Bund Road and Ravi Bridge projects.

She also reviewed the service roads along the corridor and instructed the concerned authorities to expand service lanes to accommodate nearby residents.

Officials from the Lahore Development Authority (LDA), including Director General Tahir Farooq and Chief Engineer Israr Saeed, briefed the CM on the completion of construction between the Niazi Interchange and Saggian, as well as the Saggian to Babu Sabu section. Service lanes have been opened along the 7.5 km Bund Road corridor, improving traffic flow.

The briefing also highlighted the repair work on drainage systems, the construction of five vehicular and four pedestrian subways, and the development of a greenbelt and park at Babu Sabu Chowk. Encroachments on valuable land have been removed, and a 540-meter, four-lane bridge over the Ravi River has been constructed.

These projects are expected to ease traffic for residents in areas like Shahdara, Kot Abdul Malik, and Sheikhupura, while the Bund Road corridor will benefit localities such as Gulshan-i-Ravi, Sanda, and Sherakot.
