CDWP Approves Development Projects Worth Rs. 9.41 billion

The Central Development Working Party (CDWP) has given the green light to three development projects with a total cost of Rs. 9.41 billion and has forwarded seven other projects to the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) for final approval.

Chaired by Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives, Ahsan Iqbal, the CDWP meeting reviewed and approved 10 development projects, covering various sectors such as agriculture and food, education, transport and communications, and water resources.

Among the projects recommended to ECNEC for final approval is the “Prime Minister’s National Programmed for Socialization of Agriculture Tube wells,” valued at Rs. 377.24 billion.

Additionally, the CDWP approved the “Establishment of Federal Government College of Home Economics Management Sciences and Specialized Discipline, F-11/1 Islamabad” project for Rs. 2.638 billion.

Another approved project is the “Establishment of Women Sub-Campus, University of Swat, Charbagh Swat, KPK,” presented by the Higher Education Commission (HEC), with an Rs. 1.361 billion budget.

In the transport and communications sector, the CDWP recommended two projects to ECNEC for consideration: the “Lahore Ring Road Southern Loop Construction of Road from Raiwind Road up to Multan” for Rs. 17.786 billion and the “Punjab Arterial Roads Improvement Program” with a budget of Rs. 188.965 billion.

Furthermore, the CDWP approved three other projects in the transport and communications sector, namely the “Construction of Yariq-Tank Road” costing Rs. 5.414 billion, the “Construction of Hyderabad-Sukkur 306 km, 6-Lane Divided Fenced Motorway on Built Operate Transfer” with a budget of Rs. 308.194 billion, and the “Construction of Khawaza Khel–Besham Express Way” spanning 48km and valued at Rs. 79.131 billion.

According to details, the Ministry of Water Resources also presented two projects for consideration.

The first project, the “Garuk Storage Dam District Kharan,” has an estimated cost of Rs. 27.553 billion, while the second project, the “Remodeling of Pat Feeder Canal System,” is valued at Rs. 61.793 billion.
