CDA Departmental Working Party approves PC-I of several projects
The Capital Development Authority’s (CDA) Departmental Working Party (DWP) on Tuesday approved PC-I of several development projects including development of four residential sectors.
The CDA-DWP headed by Chairman CDA Noorul Amin Mengal approved PC-I of sector C-13, C-14, E-13 and F-13. The meeting also approved PC-I of proposed 11th Avenue project.
The meeting approved PC-I worth Rs1,078 million for development of sector C-13 with 12 months time duration. “The project (of sector C-13) is in consonance with the Islamabad Master Plan and will provide facility to people to construct their houses or to reside in flats in the very scenic environment of capital which is the prominent part of Potohar Plateau spread along the toe of Margalla Hills,” read a working paper. The meeting also approved PC-1 worth Rs1,0249.348 million for development of sector D-13.
“The Sector D-13 is meant for all income groups and comprises 5,468 numbers residential plots of size 50’x90’ and 25’x50’,” read a working paper, adding that this project will be completed in three years time. Similarly, the meeting approved PC-I wroth Rs 12274.370 million for development of sector E-13. “The Sector E-13 is meant for all class of income groups and comprises of 4348 numbers residential plots of size 50’x90’ ( 2267 Plots) and 25’x50’ (2081 Plots),” read the document, which stated that this project will be completed in three years time. PC-I worth Rs12,676.494 million has also been approved for development of sector F-13.
“This sector comprises 5,342 numbers residential plots of size 75’x120’ (114 Plots), 50’x90’ (2228 Plots) and 25’x50’ (3000 Plots),” the meeting was told.
The time duration of completion of development work of this sector is also three years. The DWP also approved PC-I regarding “infrastructure development work of Orchard Heights Park Road Islamabad, costing Rs1,773.943 million.
The project site is planned at Park Road opposite to Park Enclave and adjacent to King Hammad University to be executed as per continuation of Park Enclave Phase-I, II & III. “The project is convenient from all major roads of Islamabad. Total Area of the scheme is 116.84 kanals. The scheme is designed commercially with provision of public buildings and will be completed in 12 months time,” read the document.
A source said that an influential figure of the city has been making efforts for years to get access to his land from main Park Road.
He said to oblige him, the CDA planned this scheme and once this scheme is developed, the land of the person will have smooth access as CDA will construct road from Park Road for his Orchard Height and access of this scheme will also be used by said person for launching commercial schemes on his land.
However, CDA’s spokesperson Syed Safdar Ali out rightly rejected the claim of said source and added that the project was designed in greater interest of the CDA and public. “There is no wrongdoing in this project and there is no truth of facilitating anyone,” he said.
The meeting also approved PC-I regarding “2.4 km Extension of Margalla Avenue from N-5 to M-1 costing Rs2,930.078 million.
Scheme was previously approved by CDA-DWP with directions to consult with NHA regarding the alignment of the portion falling in the vicinity of Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA).
The meeting also approved PC-I regarding “Construction of 11th Avenue from F-10/F-11 to Capt. Karnal Sher Khan Shaheed road, Islamabad, costing RS.19,350 million with three year time duration.
The DWP also approved PC-1 for remaining work of Multi Purpose Citizen Club G-10, costing Rs2,298.77 million with one year completion time.
Similarly, the meeting also approved PC-I of national bus terminal at a cost of over Rs4252 million, near metro Cash and Carry in I-11/4 with completion time one year.
