Lahore to Get New Eight-Lane Flyover Bridge
The federal government has approved the construction of an eight-lane flyover bridge at the Imamia Colony Railway Crossing on National Highway N-5 in Shahdara, Lahore, at an estimated cost of Rs. 7.492 billion.
The Central Development Working Party (CDWP) approved the project, which also includes the construction and rehabilitation of connecting roads.
The development aims to reduce traffic congestion in Shahdara Town by improving traffic movement around the railway crossing.
The project was among the development schemes reviewed by the CDWP at a meeting chaired by Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal. The forum considered 14 projects across the country with a combined estimated cost of Rs. 226.48 billion.
Alongside the Shahdara bridge, the CDWP reviewed several major infrastructure and development proposals, including road, irrigation, and solar energy projects in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The source does not provide a construction start date or an expected completion timeline for the Shahdara bridge.
