Karachi’s University Road Project Nears Completion
Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has announced that the University Road project will be completed within two months.
Memon made the announcement while inaugurating the Mosamiyat Flyover, a key component of the Red Line Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project, in Karachi on Sunday. Sindh Minister Saeed Ghani and Karachi Deputy Mayor Salman Abdullah Murad also attended the ceremony.
He said construction work on University Road had entered its final stage and that the project would be completed within the next two months.
Regarding the Red Line project, Memon said the Mosamiyat Flyover would soon open for public use after completion of the necessary formalities. He added that work on BRT stations and other components was also progressing.
Memon acknowledged delays in the project and apologized to Karachi residents. He said increases in the prices of the dollar, cement and petrol had contributed to the delays, but work had continued despite these challenges.
