Development projects: No negligence or delay to be tolerated: Nasir
KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Local Government Syed Nasir Hussain Shah chaired an important review meeting regarding new and ongoing development projects, in which detailed discussions were held on the progress, funding, timely completion and provision of public facilities related to development schemes underway across the province.
The meeting was attended by Sukkur Mayor Arslan Islam Sheikh, Additional Chief Secretary Local Government Waseem Shamshad and senior officers of the relevant departments.
A detailed briefing was given regarding ongoing development projects in various districts, including roads, flyovers, underpasses, construction of small roads, drainage and civic facilities projects.
Addressing the meeting, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah said that the timely completion of ongoing development schemes was the top priority of the Sindh government and no negligence or delay in this regard would be tolerated.
He directed that the pace of development projects should be further accelerated for the immediate resolution of public issues so that citizens could be provided facilities at the earliest possible time. He said that development work across the province was progressing rapidly and several projects had entered the final stages of completion.
He further stated that the construction and rehabilitation work of flyovers, underpasses, main roads and small roads was being completed at a fast pace, the positive impact of which would soon be visible to the public.
The Sindh Local Government Minister said that ongoing development projects would be given special priority in the fiscal year 2026-27 budget, while a proposal would also be presented to allocate complete funds for the timely completion of these schemes so that the continuity of development work would not be affected.
