CDA to Complete Serena Interchange Project in 3 Months

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has directed the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to complete the long-awaited Serena Interchange project within the next three months. During a visit to review the construction progress, Naqvi emphasized the importance of finishing the Rs. 4.2 billion projects on time to alleviate traffic congestion in Islamabad.

The Serena Interchange is designed to tackle the severe traffic issues faced by both residents of the capital and travelers from nearby cities. The project is expected to significantly improve traffic flow, benefiting local commuters and visitors alike. It will feature three underpasses with loops, aimed at streamlining traffic movement. Two of these underpasses will be situated along the Srinagar Highway, while the third will be located on Khyaban-i-Suharwardi. The addition of these underpasses is anticipated to improve connectivity and reduce traffic bottlenecks in crucial areas of Islamabad.

Naqvi was briefed in detail on the progress of the project and the construction timeline. He also instructed the CDA to implement effective traffic management strategies to minimize disruptions during the remaining construction phase.
