Punjab Approves Massive Funds For Murree and Galyat For Tourism

The Punjab government has allocated Rs. 520 million to promote winter tourism in Murree and Galyat. The funds have been approved to attract more tourists and enhance their experience during the winter months.

A key focus of the project is improving road access and safety in these regions. Furthermore, efforts will be made to ensure quick snow removal and road expansions, especially in Galyat, to prevent disruptions caused by heavy snowfall.

Moreover, landslide-prone areas will be secured, as these zones are at risk during the winter due to snow and ice.

The package also addresses water shortages, a common problem in these areas. Water supply projects and the construction of storage tanks are planned to help residents and tourists.

Different authorities have been assigned responsibilities to ensure the smooth execution of these projects. The Murree district administration will manage snow clearing and road cleaning within Punjab’s boundaries. The Galyat Development Authority will oversee road maintenance and drinking water supply in areas under Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P).Roads connecting Punjab, Azad Kashmir, and Galyat will also be maintained by the district administration of Murree, ensuring better connectivity for tourists.
