Green Line Train to Start Operating on December 12
The Green Line passenger train is expected to be operational on December 12. Pakistan Railway is launching the Green Line train as a quality railway service while also making a means of earning for the railway employees.
According to a Ministry of Railways official, the train would include two AC parlors, five AC Business carriages, six AC Standard carriages, and four to five economy-class coaches.
It was reported that these high-quality facilities had been arranged in accordance with the orders of Minister of Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique, who wanted the best possible facilities for the passengers.
The representative also reported that the minister had directed the person in charge of the Green Line Train to reduce the travel time between Lahore and Karachi. The travel time had been ordered to be less than 20 hours so the trust of passengers in the railway system could be restored.
It was further reported that the train is equipped with the best commute facilities, such as high-quality cuisine as well as separate LCD screens for passengers in the AC parlor, which will allow passengers to watch movies with headphones. The ticket prices are also expected to be kept low, so the maximum number of passengers can enjoy these services.
While replying to a query, the representative told the media that services of other passenger trains would also be improved by taking help from the private sector. Special focus will be given to the cleanliness and other similar challenging areas to improve the overall quality of Pakistan Railways. The project of maintaining cleanliness will be initiated from key stations such as Lahore, Faisalabad, Karachi, Rawalpindi, Quetta, Peshawar, Khanewal, Sukkur, Sahiwal, Multan.
