CDA starts construction work on flyover section of Bhara Kahu bypass
The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has started construction work on the flyover section of Bhara Kahu bypass project.
The CDA’s contractor, National Logistics Cell (NLC) has started piling work (underground pillars) of the one kilometer flyover project, which is part of the Bhara Kahu bypass road.
The total length of the bypass road is 5.33km – 4km is grade road and 1.33km is elevated (flyover).
Officials have said that the project worth Rs 6.5 billion will be completed within four months in accordance with the announcement of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
They said there are two major components of the road – flyover and interchange – and currently work was in progress on them with full pace.
An anti-encroachment operation was conducted in the parts of Bhara Kahu, Muree Road, and its adjoining areas demolishing several illegal structures built on its way.
According to the sources, the operation was jointly participated by Capital Development Authority (CDA), the Islamabad Capital Territory Administration (ICTA), the National Highways Authority (NHA), the Directorate of Municipal Administration, and the Federal Capital Police.

Meanwhile, in response to public complaints, the ICTA food department inspected eateries and restaurants in sectors I-10 and I-11/3 to assess food quality and hygiene conditions.
Restaurants were fined for noncompliance with food laws, hygiene standards, the use of expired items, and poor sanitation.
Muhammad Afzal, the Deputy Director of Food, issued warnings to some food handlers and directed them to improve the restaurant’s food quality.
Earlier, the interior minister gave a rare endorsement was received to the top civic body and district administration for their current operation against illegal marquees and other construction in the city as it demolished 25 structures.
