NFC OPPOSED: Awami National Party district president MPA Nisar Mohmand has expressed concern over the formation of the 10th National Finance Commission (NFC), terming it unconstitutional and illegal.
Talking to media persons, he said that appointing an unrelated person as a member of the NFC showed the incompetence of the government. The MPA said that they would never compromise on their rights and provincial autonomy.
He claimed that the elected government was not even aware that the inclusion of the financial adviser and finance secretary in the commission was unconstitutional.
“We can’t expect from this commission an additional 3 percent NFC award for the merged tribal districts,” he said. Mr. Momand demanded the reconstitution of the 10th National Finance Commission.
